U.S. gasoline exports in May, June, and July established new seasonal records (10/6/2021)

According to our Petroleum Supply Monthly (PSM), U.S. exports of motor gasoline in May, June, and July reached their highest level on record for each month, contributing to historically high exports of gasoline throughout most of this summer. Although PSM data for August will not be available until the end of October, our estimate of exports in August (based on the Weekly Petroleum Status Report) suggest that August 2021 gasoline exports were lower than 2020 levels, and exports were similarly low in September. The higher summer exports in May, June, and July 2021 reflect a departure from the historic seasonality of gasoline exports. ...
